How's life in the midsection?
Well, according to babycenter.com, the grape sized baby floating around is starting to look like a baby. Its tail is gone and all major body parts are present. The next few months will be when all the fine tuning will take place as things develop.
What's this Mama feeling?
I am pretty lucky to have mild symptoms when I'm pregnant, although this time around seems to be different. This time my symptoms started earlier and are more pronounced. With Elizabeth I had a slight car sick feeling for two weeks but never really could call it "morning sickness."
This time my "morning sickness" is a case of nausea that comes and goes and always seems to strike about the time I try to get anything done.
I am starting to feel "thick" around the middle and my pants are a tad snugger.
My other first trimester complaint it tiredness. I fell exhausted about 75% of time and the daily demands of a 2 year old are wearing me out. I also seem to have a short fuse...working on that...
What's the Toddler's take?
The excitement has seemed to have worn off. She doesn't talk about the baby as much and when we ask her about it her attitude is..meh. I think mostly she hasn't cared in the last week because she is fighting a cold and there are more important things to worry about...like nursing.
Operation Night Weaning as gone down the crapper. As you can see I am a little bitter about it. I wanted to be successfully night weaned by now but no such luck. First, we went for a visit at the Grandparents' house...that lead to me being tired and giving in to her night time requests. Second, she got sick. I can't wean a sick baby. I want to but my motherly heart gets in the way. I am still trying to cut down though. I have made it a regular practice to offer a sippy cup of water instead. Sometimes it works...sometimes Daddy catches the cup with his sleeping head.
Needless to say, night time is not pleasant in our house right now. The kid is cranky, stuffed up, sick and needy. Mama is tired, sore and cranky. Daddy's head hurts, he's tired from all the waking at night too, and cranky. We are all cranky.
So to wrap up this weekly update...
We were not able to get in to see our midwife last week. I am hoping that this is the week. I think it would be awesome to get to see the little babe!
